I thought Darkness Falls was under-rated. Scarier than The Ring which came out around the same time.

Another vote for The Sentinel.

Don't Be Afraid of The Dark (TV movie - small creatures under the stairs/behind the fireplace)

And not sure if it's underrated or not but I like Frailty.

I saw one on television years ago. "The Boogens" (1981).

It scared me. It seemed to take forever for it to come out on video but it finally did and I bought it. I watch it from time to time. It's low budget but well done. Scary little creature-feature.

The Changeling with George C. Scott. I don't think it's out on DVD, but I could be wrong. A wonderfully creepy ghost story.

Same here! I looked for this movie for years and it was like it didn't exist but I had vivid memories of seeing it on Showtime back in the early 80's. Then, when videos came out, you couldn't find it, and no one seemed to have heard of it. I do have it on VHS now.
