Looks pretty good but not sure if I'll get a chance to see it in the movies.........there's always Netflix down the road.

None of the theaters around me are playing it.
I'll definitely be buying it on DVD.

someone sent me this link today to see when/where the movie will be opening. I'm surprised my city isn't getting it at all either. I'll have to drive an hour just to go. I will though - I think it's that important.

Wow.......kind of annoying how they only released it in a few theaters on the 6th. You'd think they'd release it in most major cities.

Thanks for the link. Looks like it won't be in my area until the 20th.

does anyone think that movies like this and the other one about the football player is condescending to african-americans? the message is that african-americans need bailing out or help from others or are helpless.

Looks like mostly Art Houses are getting it first, then other theatres.
It is not unusual, the film has already made the festival circuit.

I'm definitely annoyed that they put the 6th on most commercials only to find out it comes out in my area on the 20th, the same day as The Blind Side.
I'll also be seeing that one as well.

that's not the message I came away w/ from either movie. everyone of any race needs help sometimes to succeed. one movie is about a talented football player overcoming the odds, the other movie is about a teen girl preserving through hardships to better herself. both are good lessons to learn
