There's a new movie coming out in which someone comes with a box. In the box is a button. The person is told if she presses the button in the box she'll receive a million dollars but someone she doesn't know will die. I seem to remember seeing this story before but don't remember where. In the story, the person presses the button. The man returns for the box and hands over the money. The person asked what the man will do with the box. He says he'll pass the box onto another person, someone he doesn't know and that's how the story ended.
It's based on a short story by Richard Matheson. Note: There is a plot synopsis in the Richard Matheson link, so don't read it if you don't want any spoilers.
It also was a Twilight Zone episode, Button, Button. In that episode, the ending was different.
It reminds me a lot of the turn of the century short story called The Monkey's Paw.

Funny, my DH said that would be a rip off of the twilight zone though i didn't remember that particular episode.
I'd be tempted to press it, but too chicken in the end.
