"Duck Soup" (1933) Maybe the first classic sound era comedy (I may be forgetting something).
"A Christmas Story" (1983) Classic holiday comedy
"Meet The Parents" (2000) I'm not much for DeNiro in comedies, but him and Stiller are awesome when they share the screen and Owen Wilson almost steals this thing.
"The Big Lebowski" (1998) Definitely more of an acquired taste and too cerebral for some, but god**** is it funny.
"The Thin Man" (1934) Not a straight comedy, but some seriously good dialogue here that is delivered quick enough you'll want to watch it again to get the jokes you missed (same thing with "Duck Soup").
"This Is Spinal Tap" (1984) Great intro to the mockumentary genre and probably the best example of it. It had me in tears.
"Vacation" (1983) A great example of an 80's quoteable comedy. I love R rated comedies that can still be smart and charming.
"A Hard Days Night" (1964) Not a real comedy, but it shows the Beatles sense of humor.
"Dazed And Confused" (1993) I think I watched this every day in the summer of 1997. I was in college and was living like a lot of the characters in the movie. This has an all star cast and the real life Matthew McConaghy is turning into his character from this movie more and more every day.
"Finding Nemo" (2003) "Toy Story" (1995) "Toy Story 2 (1999) Pixar makes great films.
"Knocked Up" (2007) This film is pretty raunchy, but does show a little bit of heart.
"Little Miss Sunshine" (2006) A little bit overrated, but Arkin and Carrell are pretty good.
"Office Space" (1999) Funny the first time I saw it, downright hilarious since I started working in an office.
"Bad News Bears" (1976) Another great non PC comedy. Matthau owns this role, but the kids on the team make the film.
"The Muppet Movie" (1979) Nice family comedy. Great songs and cameos.
"Tillsammans" (2000) A Swedish indie comedy. Pretty good, but definitely not a mainstream laugh getter.
"Waiting" (2005) This was a comedy that reminded me of an 80s style one. Over the top and wrong, with a huge cast and it's a lot of fun.

Hangover first and foremost. Some others I enjoy: I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, Couple Retreat, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, 40 Year Old Virgin, and Miss March.

Here is an old comedy; but still very funny and current. This family is delightfully eclectic! One of Jimmy Stewart's best roles. It's titled: YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU. Also MA AND PA KETTLE BACK ON THE FARM.
