Having seen the movie first and loved it, I think I will enjoy both in their own right. The movie was great, and I believe the book is probably better, but normally when I see a movie first I like it better that way.

- The Princess Bride - boring book - great movie

- The Other Side of Midnight - great book, boring movie

- Almost any book by John Grisham or Robin Cook, in my opinion was much better than the movie

- Zoo by James Patterson was a great read but they turned it into a complete farce for the TV show (yes, I know it's not a movie but forgive me here because I had such high hopes when I heard the book was going to be a summer special on CBS and I was so terribly disappointed).
