IMO, 'Boy in the Striped Pajamas' would have so much more of an impact...and without the graphicness. The kids would feel the horror...instead of seeing it. I agree with you. You see how the two boys, same ages, live in vastly different worlds and how the dad finally sees the inhumanity of it all when it's far too late. The conclusion of that film goes in a snap.

"Terms of Endearment"
"Imitation of Life"
"A Raising in the Sun"
"Lillies of the Field"
"A Street Car named Desire"
All of the above have had very power story lines depicting human struggle to believe in the face of impossibility, overcome adversity and survive real life sorrow. But, if the truth be told a lot of movies move me to tears for other reasons too.

WERE THE WORLD MINE......one of the few "happy" cries that I have experienced while watching a movie.
Were the World Mine (2008) .

The newest movie that made me cry was the Pixar movie UP (and in the first 10 minutes!). I was with my boy in the theatre but thank goodness he was to engrossed in the movie to notice me getting misty

Has there ever been a Disney animated movie that did not have a tear jerker in it?

The Perfect Storm moved me to tears.

Did anyone say "Fried Green Tomatoes"? I thought I was immune to being emotional over this movie , but I just watched again and it did move me tears.

I won't watch 'Marley & Me' for that reason.

"Imitation of Life" has everyone in a puddle on the floor when it is over. It gets really bad then it gets even worse and worser if that is a word. No let up until it's over and the credits roll.
