1. Dame Judi Dench - for some reason those with British accents seem to be always considered the best.
2. Meryl Streep
3. That chick who was in Titanic. The one who was cute but got fat. She's a good actress.
Huge Blanchett fan here, but I have to admit that all the others already mentioned; Dench, Streep, Thereon, Winslet, ALL completely disappear into their roles. You never sit in the theatre and say to yourself; "X is doing a great job up there", you just BELIEVE them.
I might have to throw Emma Thompson, Toni Collette and Katherine Keener onto the list.
The other thing about them is that they all seem like the type that you could sit down over a cup of tea or coffee, have a very normal conversation about everyday topics and not think; "oooh, I'm sitting here with X". Instead you'd just enjoy and hour or so of good conversation.
I also appreciate that you almost NEVER read about them in the scandal sheets, they go to work, screen or stage, tend to their very normal families and sometimes go on the "pimping" circuit; Letterman, Oprah, Leno, Daily Show, which is a part of their job.
And to the above poster; Winslet-FAT? WTF are you talking about?

I assume you're referring to Kate Winslet? She is quite far from fat. She looks like a real woman and is one of the sexiest actresses around. I think she's insanely gorgeous.
