I thought it was a great movie. Gabby did an excellent job and should have won an Oscar. Her performance pulls emotions from the viewer and I feel that is what makes a film Oscar worthy. It's incredibly sad that this happens to children everyday and I hope this movie gives those children the courage to make it through life and maybe make some of the abusers out there think twice about what they do to these children.

Watched it last night. Not as graphic as I thought it would be (based on some comments here)...but it got the points across clearly. Overall, it had an uplifting theme to it, as I could imagine that most incest survivor's lives in adulthood would be much worse than Precious' was. My only guess, is that her fantasy (mental) removal from the actual physical acts being performed on her helped compartmentalize and detach her from the memory of it. In the end, she had friends, two kids which she loved and adored, two kids that had a loving mom in return, and most importantly, seemed to have broken the cycle of abuse. A perfect life...by no means. But one which was much better in the end, than at the beginning.

I give it a 7 (out of 10) for me.
