Default Movies You'd Like To See

Are there any books or series of books that you have read that you would like to see made into a movie? I have one so I'll start. I would love to see a movie made form Anne McCaffery's "Dragonriders Of Pern".

I enjoy the Pern books quite a bit.
But that film would be a major undertaking.
Maybe an animated feature?
Peter Straub and Stephen King's "The Talisman" might make a good film.
But you never know; they've screwed up a few.
Maybe a cinematic version of The Tender Bar might be absorbing.

The Tender Bar

I hated to put the Pern books down. It would be a major undertaking but what a movie it would make.

I doubt I'm going out on a limb to suggest "Ender's Game" by Orson Scott Card...

A movie about the Battle of Antietam based on the book by James McPherson...

Bloodiest day in American History that i don't believe has ever been covered in a movie.

I'd like to see "The Taking" by Dean Koontz become a movie.
In fact, most of his novels would make good movies.

William Kent Krueger's Cork O'Connor mysteries would make a fantastic miniseries. No way could you do even the first book in a 2-hr. film though.

The first few Pern books would make great movies, but things got out of hand after a while. By the '90s, I was beginning to fear that Ms. McCaffrey was on the verge of The Gerbils of Pern.

Win Blevins's So Wild A Dream would be awesome as a film.

'Salem's Lot by Stephen King, despite two filmed efforts, has not yet been adequately done in film.

THE TOMB by F. Paul Wilson. Must have it! Repairman Jack could be the next James Bondesque film franchise. And he could kick James Bond's butt.

Ha! The Gerbils of Pern! That's a riot. I almost wore my coffee. Could you please give me a little more detail on your concept? What do the Gerbils do on Pern? Ha! I'd read it though. Speaking of out of control series, did you ever read the Belgariad series?
