"Jackie Brown" was one of the few movies that raised my spirits. It portrayed a good person rising from victimhood to triumph, when caught in the crossfire between two evils. Most Hollywood pictures just reinforce my pessimism about the human condition, without any such redeeming message.
This movie really got me thinking about how we each can make the world a better place by remembering we all live in a "Village" and should care for one another...a great flick>>>>>
If we all just look at people as people forgetting their status, color, religion, all that and just cared for each other, what a different world it would be.
As a seventeen year-old with a reputation of being an extreme "goodie goodie", I went to see Grease at the movie theatre when it was released in the Summer of 1978.
Right there and then, I said farewell to my own "Sandra Dee" forever on the bank at Thunder Road.
If we all just look at people as people forgetting their status, color, religion, all that and just cared for each other, what a different world it would be.
I'll have to rent Jackie Brown and Big Eden.
Well I hope you like The Big Eden....it really is a quirky, funny and sometimes sad movie....and the scenery is stunning.
Twilight of the Golds - many controversies seemlessly flowing together into one movie.
Crash (2004)- The scene were the cop seems to realize the impact of his actions.
Lifeboat - humanity, or the stuggle of it, all in a boat.
The Ninth Day - another movie that made me ask, what would I have done.
Kiss the Girls- I added this because it changed my daily routine (I never put out my garbage can the night before anymore because of a scene in this movie)
Miss Evers' Boys - One of the first movies that made me really say... What???? Even if you don't see the movie (which was pretty good) you should read about the real experiment behind it.
Atomic Cafe - great look at the Cold War (with a darkly funny side)
