Glory
Pork Chop Hill
Saving Private Ryan
Full Metal Jacket
Gettysburg
Pearl Harbor-not for the storyline but for the dramatic portrayal of what happend to the sailors and airmen that day.
Run Silent, Run Deep

I would also have to say Platoon only because as a child of the 50's and 60's, war was in black and white and cleaned up. Platoon was the first movie I saw that was graphic.
