So this is kind of opposite of my other forum "movies that you hate that everyone else seems to love". What movie(s) can you think of that you love that you know your friends or family can't stand.
I will start with:
Jeepers Creepers 1&2
The Orphan
What's Cooking.
I love that movie and the intertwining storylines.
I want to watch it every Thanksgiving, and my family always balks.
Yeah it feeds into stereotypes, even to the point of being superficial, but it is sort of a fable, really, and has a lot of heart and humor, which are two things I can use during the holiday season.
Oh GOD!! Seems like every movie I love it always had bad reviews and deemed hated by everyone.
Superman IV
Nine Months
Captian Ron
Sweet November
The list could go long but Im drawing a blank right now. But it seems like every movie that gets bad reviews after a number of years of being out I like it.
Then movies that my girlfriend likes that are totally stupid, like Twillight, get a cult following. IDK.
District 9 was decent, you just had to stay for longer than 30 minutes
I loved Vendetta, the actors did such a good job embracing everything. I haven't seen it since 2008 though so I may break it out and watch it again. I did want to see District 9 but missed it in the theater. Wonder if it's out on DVD yet.
Maximum Overdrive! Man, I love that movie, not my fav that I watch over and over but its a good movie. Why do people hate it?
I still watch that movie occasionally. It's so bad, it's good.
