The very first song to enter the UK charts at number 1 was Elvis' 'Jailhouse Rock.'

Linda McCartney sang backup on just one Beatles song - Let It Be. Before she married Paul she was pretty darned reliable with a camera and photographed quite a few rock celebrities, some of which can be viewed here. (http://www.the-beatles-history.com/linda-mccartney-photographs.html - broken link)

Many people think Brian Johnson is the second lead singer for AC/DC. After the death of Bon Scott, Brian was brought in to replace Bon and helped bring the band much of the success it has today. Back In Black was Brian's first album and arguably their best. What many people don't know, there was a singer before Bon. His name was Dave Evans and by the time they hit mainstream and made it big Bon was the front man. Supposedly, Bon was their limo driver and after Malcolm and Angus took a disliking to Dave and didn't like the image he was giving the band decided to oust him and give Bon an audition. Bon kept telling them he can sing.... "I can sing....I can sing" and they decided to give him a shot. It's no supprize how he did and they immediately had found what they were looking for and hired him. Dave was history and IMO, AC/DC wouldn't have lasted if he remained the singer. Well, listen to the two and compare them. He doesn't have the right voice, feel and project the right image they have had for the last 36 years. Brian was a direct fit for the band. IMO, if Brian wouldn't have joined by a act of fate they might not have lasted. Just think, no Back In Black, For Those About To Rock and so on and so on! Dave continues to ride the bands coattails allegedly and that is how I found this YouTube. "You know I'm Dave" "I was the first"! Pfffffsssstt.... Bon and Brian are and were better!

In 1989, with CD sales just around the corner, vinyl sales plunged and cassette sales went up 500%.

At the age of 16 Ray Charles wanted to move to the US city the furthest away from Florida. A friend told him that would be Seattle and that's where Ray relocated. There he met a 14 year-old Quincy Jones and taught him how to write and arrange. The two remained lifelong friends.

^ That one strikes me as particularly humorous.

Michael Bolton once toured with Ozzie Osbourne. 'Course it all seems a little less sensational when you consider that he once fronted a hair band.

Bolton definitely got around when it came to working with musicians and genres. This song, Steel Bars, was co-written for Bolton with none other than Bob Dylan. Go figure.

In 1998 George Martin was a guest on CBC's Pamela Wallen Show. Apparently she had heard a rumor that he had once taken his clothes off in the studio in front of The Beatles and streaked around in an effort to lighten the mood. So she asked him about it. He admitted that this was, indeed... true.

Unfortunately I can find no other details to clue us in on which song his actions may have enhanced.

He may not have been entirely truthful about it. The story may be about a different George. I came across this:

At one point in the sessions, George Martin, whose authority over the band in the studio had waned, spontaneously left to go on holiday, leaving Chris Thomas in charge of producing.[12] During one of these sessions, while recording "Helter Skelter", Harrison reportedly ran around the studio while holding a flaming ashtray above his head
