I almost did "Crazy"! I'm not sure why the Queen song suddenly popped into my mind since I haven't heard the song for a very long time.

I'll see your "Crazy" and raise you "People".

I've heard about that storm. We watch a lot of documentaries, and they covered past storms that generally aren't mentioned but haven't been forgotten by the people. In "Key Largo", there is this dialogue as they prepare to weather a hurricane:
"Hey Curly, what all happens in a hurricane?"
"The wind blows so hard the ocean gets up on its hind legs and walks right across the land."

It's nice to know that the balladeer tradition continues. You mentioned earlier one of the greatest modern ballads: "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald". I think Mr. Foster's ballad is worthy of the category.

Now, how do I possibly follow that?

I'll see your artist and raise you "If I Could Write a Love Song". (I like him!)

Hehe. Well that song now has a grand total of 866 view, rock on Chris.

Will move up the food chain a bit with Love on the Rocks by Neil Diamond.

Let's Watch Sesame Street
Come and Play
I'm your source of education
Veins that pump with learning
Sucking the darkness clear
Leading to your life's education
Watch me you will see
More is all you need
Can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street?
Dedicated to
Educating you
Come counting faster
Obey Jim Henson
Your life burns faster
Obey Jim Henson
Kermit the Frog

He's pulling the strings
Teaching your mind and helping you reach your dreams
Educated by him

"Sesame Street" meets Metallica~WOAH! Big Bird is a headbanger?!

I'll see your "Master of" and raise you "My Fate".

The American Breed - Master Of My Fate - YouTube

"Invictus" rocks!

INVICTUS
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

~~William Ernest Henley~~

I think the dichotomy is hilarious. You don't expect a song about big bird set to Metallica, hehe.

Master of Disaster by Jeff Hiatt

Some people aren't the master of their own fates though.

Round Here (Bypassed by the Interstate (Apologies to Counting Crows - Round Here)

Step out the front door looking east into the faraway when no one notices the contrast between black and white
In between Santa Fa and Los Angeles Angels get a better view of the crumbling difference between profit and lack of political
might
When I walk down the sidewalk of the old downtown, neighbors say hello, I turn around and head back again, cause I don't know
Maria says she's dying through the door I hear her crying, well I don't know
Round here, we were bypassed by interstate
Round here, devastation permeates
Maria came from Nashville with a suitcase in her hand, she said she'd like to meet a boy who looks like Elvis
When she walks the sidewalk she mumbles to herself, it's like she's walking on a wire in a circus
She parks herself on a park bench and recollects that she's close to understanding about leaving
And she knows she's stuck here, she has trouble and she's nervous
Round here, we miss the interstate
Round here, we have a bad fate
Round here, we talk just like lions, but we sacrifice like lambs
Round here, get your kicks on Route 66 man
Whoohhooo
Leave here, better run like the wind
Out of the life here
Maria baby better get herself in
Out of the life here
She says it's only in my head
She says I know, it's only in my head
But the girl in the car in the parking lot says man you'd better take a shot
Can't you see my walls are crumbling
And she looks up at the building says she's thinking of jumping, she must be tired of something
Round here, bypassed by interstate
Round here, hey man, there's not much to find
Round here we always get forgotten and bypassed by interstate
Round here we stay up very late bemoaning the interstate
I can't see nothing, nothing round here
Catch me if I'm falling, will you catch me if I'm falling, catch me if I'm falling Round here
I said I'm under the gun round here
Oh man, I said I'm under the gun round here
I can't see nothing, nothing
Round here
