"...So if you're walking down the street sometime
And spot some hollow ancient eyes,
Please don't just pass 'em by and stare
As if you didn't care, say, "Hello in there, hello...."
Wow Sabby...now that is one big dose of reality. So sad. Without a little bit of hope and dreams our lives kind of sound like that, don't they? If you factor in all the unremarkable days in and out. That must be why I don't live in the real that much.

This link wouldnt play for me. I'm not sure which version it is, Lost? or Lost! but I like the acoustic version. I certainly don't feel a lot of hope when listening to this song. More desperation and a sense of longing.

How do you feel about the Jay-z version?
It was Lost!, not the acoustic version but I do love that too. No, I have not heard the Jay-z version, I really didn't even know it existed...but I do now, so I'll check it out. Thanks. I'm going to apologize now, because I feel a novel in my fingertips.
I was not really thinking hope when posting Lost! for me it's about not becoming complacent in life. The song is first set up by someone finding so many obstacles and feeling "lost", "just because I'm losing doesn't mean I'm lost, doesn't mean I'll stop" and then the second part talks about someone who appears to make it in life but "it doesn't mean they've won" and if they feel that way they will get "lost."
I think of how when you first start out in life as a young adult with passion and dreams but your choices are limited, yet we stil have the drive to keep going. Later sometimes we loose that zest for life and we become complacent in life, robotic going through the motions. For me that's something I don't want...I want to still find those doors that are locked...so maybe it really is about hope, but mostly I think it's about being passionate in life.
"When I was only seventeen
My head was full of brilliant dreams
My heart would call and I would gladly go"
"I don't believe in destiny
I don't believe in love
I don't believe that anything will ever be enough..."
"As time goes by reality
Destroys your hope and dignity
There's nothing left but shadows on the wall
But just remember who you are
And where youve been youve come so far
And never ever let them see you fall"
"Man you should have seen us
On the way to venus
Walking on the milky way
It was quite a day hey hey..."
