Scripting a scene of anguish, the brambles tearing clothing as his hand reaches out to touch the mirage of her... was she ever there or a ghost from another time shared... is it prior memories before birth that's now tearing him apart...

face twisted... tortured... she too only alive within the pain he gives her!

Stormy Seas signal the moment! A Clap of thunder... drench tear-streaked faces streaming back time...

Somewhere is one of my very favorite movies...I first saw it when it came on TV at the age of 16. I not only had to play what I could on the piano I memorized one of the scenes for my drama class. Even after taking it all in you never are quite sure how it all happened which makes it even more intriguing...how did the old lady get the watch before he traveled back? I've never heard the song you listed first- Alive, definitely a feeling song...

Memorizing a scene for Drama class! You have my attention LOL... (Archive is a Brithish band noted for their many changes in personnel and styles, sometimes driving their fans crazy.)

Of the Wand and the Moon - Time Time Time

Regarding the post as a whole, and its inference to a script being written tying the complexities of alternate emotional drives, hidden realities presented within a singular personality... for instance how would one account for yearning superceding the time in which one lives, or the suspected recognition of love that cannot be accounted for because of extreme cultural or age differences...

Both songs capture the desire to dissolve into relationship countered by the impact of separation via time, space, culture. This dilemna draws us deep into the meaning of where do connection and contact take place. Is it the choosing that initiates potential with a force of life in and of itself...

But then these are the problems welcomed by the script writer, the playwright... and now I must stop or be accused of creating ponderous posts! We must keep things light and frivolous to some extent must we not? LOL

Ah! as to the watch... was he totally dressed in that last scene with her, for the watch is often the final accessory to be secured to a Gentleman's vest ... chuckle... and now back to my increasing untidied piles of notes. Thank You Lyra for the temporary diversion

Oh if you like complexity in a movie, maybe try Inception... the layers of reality within separate time and space I found particularly fascinating.
