Sir BigSwede, your Saxon set, on the previous page, was
mind blowing! I forgot how powerful they are.
In fact all of music has been incredible! A wonderful blend of
old and new metal, creating a dynamic juxtaposition that's
relevant, alive, and very potent.

MADE - Metal Screamer - Julia & THE AGONIST - and Their Eulogies Sang Me to Sleep
The response I received from this series with Alissa has just been
phenomenal so I'm going to repeat the first post and give a link
to parts 2 through 6.
(Yes, most people are very surprised to discover Metalheads are
some very profound thinkers, articulate, with an inner refinement,
socially perceptive, emotionally and psychologically astute, and
straight edged, meaning they don't drink, smoke or do drugs.)
Alissa is coaching a young lady, who is a senior in high school, and
the patience Alissa shows in working with her is outstanding.
Many of our younger viewers (16- and 17-plus year-olds) could
relate to the issues confronting Julia regarding cyberbullying, in
particular, and bullying in general. Also, since Julia is a drama
student, our younger viewers, again, could most definitely relate
to her.
I'm so proud of Alissa, and if I had more time, would try to
contact her. In her, perhaps I see a lot of my own personality. If I had another life, it would most certainly be that of a Metal
screamer, with a country edge!
So an encore for our younger viewers and from here on in, I'll
supply the link.
~~~~~~~~~ MTV MADE episode with MY GIRL ALISSA!!!!! (Alissa White-Gluz)
"Julia is tired of being bullied and, with the help of her coach, Alissa White-Gluz (from The Agonist), she wants to be MADE
into a confident, hardcore metal screamer."
To excited students involved in one of the largest parades New York
City has, tomorrow (Chinese Festival Parade), you've probably
been without sleep, having to prepare your costumes, participate
in rehearsals, assist in decorating floats and complete school work
as well as attend traditional functions, making for a very busy
weekend! LOL A rush rush life!
Good luck and enjoy this weekend's celebration!!!
What a wonderful selection of music you have shared!
I have your question in mind and will be able to answer you fully after
this weekend with the celebrations of Chinese New Years. At this time my
real is demanding my exclusive attention.
An opportunity to discuss Metal may come Tuesday or Wednesday. I certainly have enjoyed your posts!
I do enjoy, Cruachan, a Celtic Metal Band from Ireland, known for strong support of folk metal, using Celtic mythology in their lyrics.
Awesome song by Cruachan. I love how it slowly builds, going from almost pure mellow folk to monstrous guitar riffs.
I've always liked folk, I've always liked metal. I know folk metal has been around for a considerable time, but due to living under a rock for so many years, I didn't discover it until recently. Now I find a kind of music that blends both folk and metal...something I would have considered odd a few years ago.
Here's another favourite of mine, from Askival (Scottish). The song is ovee 15 minutes long, but an epic journey:
