Been runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load, got a world of trouble on my mind. Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find. (Eagles)

Mama put my guns back in the ground. I can't shoot them anymore, That long black cloud is comin down. I feel I'm knockin' on Heaven's door.. (Dylan)

Pee-racticality dee-oesn't interest me, love the life that I lead. I've got a pocketful of miracles, and with a pocketful of miracles, one little miracle a day is all I need. (Cahn)

Baby I've been here before,
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor,
I used to live alone before I knew ya
But I've seen your flag on the marble arch,
Our love is not a victory march,
It's a cold and its a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above,
But all I've ever learnt from love,
Is how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya,
It's not a cry that u hear at night,
It's not someone who's seen the light,
It's a cold and broken hallelujah

Hallelujah.. we'll see...

You can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Sounds like rip-off since this song was released in 2009 while Radiohead made a similar line already in 2007 in their Bangers + Mash song:

If you stare into the dark
The black will stare back
Back into your soul

Very true. Another line that have a similar meaning in a way can be found in Hammer to Fall by Queen:

Here we stand or here we fall
History won't care at all

One of the best lines in terms of suicide theme was created in Videotape by Radiohead:

This is my way of saying goodbye
Because I can't do it face to face
I'm talking to you after it's too late
From my videotape

"Like a star" by Corinne Bailey Rae

I wonder why it is,
I don't argue like this,
With anyone but you,
I wonder why it is,
I wont let my guard down,
For anyone but you
We do it all the time,
Blowing out my mind,

A few from a folk song called "Salty Dog Blues covered by artist from Leadbelly to Flogging Molly. The lyrics may vary depending on who does the rendition.I like the humorous ones.

Standing on the corner with the lowdown blues
A great big hole in the bottom of my shoes

I like sugar, I like grits/ I like girls with great big Eyes

Two old maids just a-laying on the sand/ Each one wishin' that the other was a man.

The song appears in an episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" featuring a band called The Dillards In the show they were known as the Darling family, and did a wonderful rendition with Andy Griffith himself.

Eyes is a wrong word here, isn't it?

Yeh.. cheesy maybe.. but unapologetically, I like it!

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.
