I like electronic music, but don't really know where to start, to find the good stuff, like with rock, or rap. Every once in a while,a car at work will have XM or Sirius activated, so that's my access to the music, specifically channel 52, the Electric Area. The thing is, the radios hardly ever have song infirmation, and the dj's don't always say the name of the songs. There's usually good stuff on there, too. I've only found one artist/group, by accident trying to find a certain version of a Matisyahu song, that was recorded here: The Crystal Method, they did a song with him.
Been having a similar problem with Rockabilly, and it's subgenres, too. Found the Necromantix via wikipedia.
Go to youtube and type in 'electronic music' All kinds of bands will come up, you can choose from there.
That is a good idea. One thing I don't get is the differences in the genre, I don't want to look like a tool listening to a trance song, calling it house.

So many genres and sub genres. I for one am happy to see this generic electronic thread. It's just easier to drop it here rather than start a new thread that would probably get lost in the shuffle.

I recommend just mocking all the microscopic sub-genres, until you get the hang of some of the differences, but I'm no expert on electronic music. And do you mostly mean the dance-oriented stuff or do you mean all electronic music? Because of course there is even some academic electronic music by classically trained composers that goes way back to the middle of the last century. I used to listen to a lot of "Teutonic electronics" and related stuff, back in the 80s, but I lost interest in most of it long ago. I still like this Klaus Schulze track (maybe I like having the organic addition of the cello):
To actually answer your question, what about pandora.com? Find some electronic music you like and create a station from those artists and see what you get.

I've been listening to it for 30+ years. I simply refer to that as electronic music — along with Synergy, Schulze, Wendy Carlos, Tangerine Dream (and alumni), etc. — because I can't stand that trance and EDM nonsense. In fact, Peter Baumann (a former member of Tangerine Dream from '73-'77), just released his first solo album of instrumental electronic music since 1979 (of course, I'm not counting his '80s pop).
This nice chap even uploaded a full playback of Baumann's album, Machines of Desire, from his white vinyl issue.
Here's John and the band (which includes his son Cody on guitar) doing a live-in-studio rendition of the main title of Escape From New York, an electronic composition rearranged for synths, drums and guitars.
