I have to agree that the best way to enjoy the blues is at a small local club. I've seen some great shows here in Phoenix at The Rhythm Room and Char's Has the Blues.

My favorite old-school blues artist is Freddie King (http://www.amazon.com/Freddie-King/artist/B000APEUBA - broken link). The "Ultimate Collection" CD showcases his range and talent. My favorite song of his is "Palace of the King." I can't play that one loud enough.

I was turned onto Freddie King by a local blues guitarist, Carvin Jones, who I've seen play at a bunch of local clubs.

As for current bands, my favorites are The Tommy Castro Band, Walter Trout and Albert Cummings.

Probably makes up the bulk of my 40yr+ collection and this might ruffle a few feathers but top of the heap for me [in the genre] has always been Rory Gallagher,,

Default Blues

Anyone have a good list of songs I can search?

Love blues...mainly the music itself, though, not the singing (although I do love some BB King, etc). Can be real slow, faster paced songs, etc.

Clarence Gatemouth Brown

"Okie Dokie Stomp"

This version in his later years is great, the original is wonderful!

This wouldn't work for me; it says "track not found". Here's another one, in case I'm not the only one who's having trouble lol:
