I'm just a lowly drummer--and a rock drummer at that, so I doubt a group of serious violin players would even let me in the room, LOL. But my new bride is a classically-trained violinist who attended Berklee College of Music and played in the Austin Philharmonic for a couple years. Go figure how she ended up with a dude who can barely spell violin.
Anyway, I'd be happy to pass on to here any q's you have. I'll just let her type in here answer under my name. (If you're interested, that is.)

I play a acoustic Fender F-50 Resonator like this from time to time. I like to play glass bottle slide on it. It also is great when you are camping or whatever and don't have electricity or want to mess with a amp. Fender Products: FR-50 Resonator

That is what a friend told me too. He said it was high school and he forgot everything. That is until he busted out with Somewhere Over The Rainbow on his old violin after he dug it out of the closet and dusted the case off. Now teach me how to play that on guitar I said! LOL

Played for ten years until I graduated high school in June 2009, so not too long ago. But I've only picked it up three or four times since then. I need to start playing again.

Axle- that guitar is soo freakin amazing. One time I went to see a bluegrass band and Im pretty positive I saw that same model onstage.

Drummer boy- I played violin for ten years (classically trained as well). I am hoping to start up again, and I wanted some suggestions on books to buy to retrain my intonation and my sound. It took me forever to learn a decent bow hold, and now when I play I sound like crap again. Also, Im REALLY on an alternative country style kick (I love the Avett brothers if youve ever heard of them), and Im interested in learning a "fiddle player" style. Anyways, I guess I will have to do the ol' google search and hunt some info down.

Thanks! You might like this one as well. Many years ago I saw this video on MTV. I fell in love with that type of acoustic guitar and the sound. I knew I just had to get one. Mine sounds almost identical to the one used in this. Here is also some peppy violin JCM style for ya!

I'm a former viola player. Viola was my first instrument, but these days, I play voice, guitar, and keyboards.
