I'm not a music person but I want to be able to record multiple layers. For example record playing something. then switch instruments and record another instrument into that.
I'm looking at the casio lk-230 or something like that but I have no idea what to look for as far as finding out if its capable of doing what I'm asking for. Help?
Also, if I buy a keyboard that can't do that, can't they be hooked up to the computer where a program can do what I'm asking for?
What's your budget like? I can definitely point you in the right direction.
It sounds like you are looking for a workstation, but I venture to guess you would like a sequencer to work with as well (so you can record multiple layers). How computer literate are you and what platform do you use or are most comfortable with? Mac or PC?
Are you just learning to play and write music? Is this a hobby?
