You didn't know that? MTV hasn't been playing music since the mid - late 90's. It's a reality TV network now.

Even though they air many TV shows (like Cribs) they still show video clips from time to time. You probably missed something. I've seen many music videos on MTV in my country for the last couple of years (of Justin Timberlake, 50 cent, Rihanna, Lady GaGa, and many others).

This year has been the best in terms of the quality of the album in recent memory. You have new artists establishing themselves to not only to my generation, but to older generations as well. Kanye West, Lady Gaga, The Arcade, Taylor Swift, among others have made pretty great albums this year.
