But some years there's no butter for the roll - and with this much money (unfathomable, imo), you'd think everything would be top-notch.

That halftime show was awful... I can't believe they had Fergie out there to massacre "Sweet Child of Mine" with a sub-karaoke level performance(even dragging out the great Slash?!) and then play "The Time of My Life"--maybe the corniest song ever...(Which reminded me of an old Simpsons parody of halftime shows where they sang "I had the half-time of my life" to the same music.) But even the Simpsons couldn't have made a better parody than that craptastic show last night.

"I've got a feeling" that was one of the worst ones in Super Bowl history, even worse than the horrible Blues Brothers show in 1997 (about 15 years after the death of John Belushi) featuring a confused John Goodman and a drugged out James Brown on stage or even worse than the one back in 1989 that featured a 3D halftime show with an Elvis impersonator/magician named Elvis Presto doing a half-assed magic trick that didn't work.

I know the Super Bowl halftime show is usually an attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the American TV-watching public...But come on. At least give us something that football fans might like...

They should bring in Kyle Turley's band. He might not be the greatest ever like the Black Eyed Peas (whatever, after last night I'll have to run out and get all their cd's), but at least his band rocks and he did play in the NFL for about a decade. Can't be any worse than what I saw yesterday...

Who the f*** ever said the BLACK EYED PEAS were the greatest?

Where's that puke emoticon?

But the thing with the NFL was, they felt they just HAD to get someone who's at least current and "safe". You know, because seeing a woman's nipple is the worst thing that could possibly happen. They were getting ripped for having performers that most of this generation read about in history books.

So they just grabbed the B.E.P.

I know it was sarcasm.

Doesn't matter... just seeing that brings a feeling of sickness.

Who are these people and why is everyone talking about them? I swear, it is the only thing people were talking about at work today.....It was like the game itself didn't even happen. Way to NFL...the legacy of Super Bowl 45? The black eye peas!

Well speaking as a native of Fort Worth, I'd rather that be the legacy than the ice storm... and the falling ice inujuring 5 people... and the faulty temporary seats.

Or, get this, maybe the GAME could be the legacy.

I follow ya, and agree. The BEP's are nothing but a studio creation ala New Kids on the Block. No instruments, no writing, no apparent singing skills, no problem. They did have some nifty outfits though. Clothing light bulbs are way under rated. Put on a Tron suit, and get invited to, well, sing at the Superbowl.

She's just a girl from Hacienda Heights. You ever been in Hacienda Heights? You'd make horrible moaning sounds too if you came from Hacienda Heights.
