As for any song that mentions robots, here's one from Grandaddy, first line being "the supervisor guy turns off the factory lights so the robots have to work in the dark..."
That's about the only science-fictiony element to it though, other than the general sound of the music.
In addition to Mr Spaceman, The Byrds also had a few other sci-fi themed songs. Jim (or was it Roger by then) McGuinn has always had a huge interest in science. (Although I'm a huge Byrds fan, the following two songs would rank pretty LOW on my favorite Byrds tunes)
