So I'm watching the intro to "Outsourced" and I really dig the Indian sounding music to a lively beat. I assume the main instrument is the sitar but I like the blending of classic and modern sounds.

Problem is I have no idea what to search for in order to hear some similar music.

I know...kind of a crazy and vague question but hopefully someone else knows what I'm talking about!

Buy the soundtrack from a Hindi movie. Bollywood. I'd suggest "Mission: Kashmir" and "Lagaan." They both have great music. "Dil Se" and "Devdas", too.

Check on youtube for these movies. You can hear some of the songs there.

This is from the 70's, and surely not what you mean, but by far, the best song/scene for me...just love it.

People make fun of Hindi music thinking it's all that cheesy Bollywood crap but if you find the right tunes, it really rocks. Wish I could find more.

Do an iTunes search on Ravi Shankar. He's widely regarded as the greatest living classical Indian musician.
I once couldn't stand Indian music, but after listening to the soundtrack of 'Gandhi', I discovered a newfound appreciation for it. (R. Shankar's music is featured prominently in the movie.)
