The Beatles, by a long shot. The Rolling Stones are one of the most overrated bands in history IMHO.

Beatles by far. Much more innovative and had much greater impact on both music and culture.

Agree! I saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show their first US appearance, and for me, they "started it all"

but the Stones, even now (40 yrs or so later) have kept it going!!!!

It was great growing up in such a wild and awesome music era . It makes me grin when today's younger folks love the Stones .

The Beatles- Great band, but if you're into bands spend most of the time in the studio

The Rolling Stones- Better when compared to the Beatles. More hardcore, and still sounds fresh to date. (I was listening to "Brown Sugar" live in 2003. It still sounds good)

That is until you wrote ONE of the most recognized and popular riffs in the history of Rock. Keith did it in his sleep!

Nah! Actually, if everyone remembers hearing or reading.....that's why The Beatles started hitting the studio more heavily. It was hard to get through a song because of it. Now the Stones were different. Where do you think 'THE TONGUE" came from?
