When I was doing mission work in Jamaica, we had the privilege to attend our host church's Good Friday service. (In Jamaica, Good Friday is considered the highest holy day, as opposed to Easter in other countries). The service began with "Were You There," which was led by the church's head Deacon.
I searched all around YouTube, but it's hard to find a performance as beautiful as what I heard on that day. Eventually, I came up with this.
P.S. I don't personally enjoy "Christian rock" music. When my church back home started offering "contemporary worship" in the mornings before traditional mass, I was often asked why I, being a teenager, didn't attend. My response was that I feel that I gain a lot more from the traditional hymns. This is just a personal opinion, however, I have nothing against the artists who create those songs or those who enjoy them.
