From the many concerts I've been to over the years, without question the best live concert I've ever seen was Santana on July 4, 1981 at the Cape Cod Coliseum. This was the set list:

All I Ever Wanted
Primera Invasion
Searchin'
Tales of Kilimanjaro
Black Magic Woman
(Fleetwood Mac cover)
Gypsy Queen
(Gábor Szabó cover)
Well All Right
(Buddy Holly cover)
Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile)
Peraza
É Papa Ré
Jin-go-lo-ba
(Babatunde Olatunji cover) (Jingo)
Winning
Incident at Neshabur
Jam
Soul Sacrifice
Open Invitation
She's Not There
(The Zombies cover)
Dragon Song
The Sensitive Kind
American Gypsy

...and this coming from a metalhead whose favorite band is Opeth.

Here's American Gypsy that was played that day -

The entire show at Slane Castle is glorious. The Chili Peppers sort of peaked in the early 2000s, late 90s, at least Anthony did. It's been pretty downhill especially after John left.
