Do you ever sit in the theater until all of the credits roll so you can find out the name of a song (and artist) you heard for the first time on a movie soundtrack? Do you go home and buy it? How about with movies on pay channels? (You can't see the credits on broadcast and cable network movies).

The first time I heard this song was while watching the film American Beauty. I was such a beautiful song so I went online and tried to piece together lyrics and researched on IMDB. Eventually I found it.

Later I became aware Annie Lennox covered it as an original by Neil Young

I've done it a lot. I always sat through the credits anyway, even now with IMDB, especially for both music and shooting locations.

Here's the first one that came to mind, from the movie "About A Boy" by Badly Drawn Boy:

I don't sit through the credits but I'll remember the lyrics and then just do a Google search and include the movie title.

I haven't bought a CD in years. I only do mp3's because I usually only like at the most 4 songs on a CD so there's no point in buying the whole thing.

In the Summer of '96... I went to see a movie at the theature. My friends and I heard this song when a brand new Dodge Ram 2500 long bed, super cab, 4X4, V-10 hit the gas. The theature went WILD and everyone was pumped for what we heard. A brand new Van Halen tune written for the movie that would become an instant classic. The movie.......... a movie about Tornado Alley and storm chasers. Twister!!!
