Theophane, you must have a pretty high tolerance level.
It would take lots of tranquilizers for me to be patient with crowds, hustle and bustle, etc.
The fewer people around, the better ... more space for me to enjoy.
OP mentioned unmet expectations, too. I'm fine with it, 'cause I figure that I'll have chances to meet those (at least some) expectations while I'm living.
What's helped me a lot is enjoying life's simple pleasures. I finally know that my life has
many simple pleasures.
