I used to be a gullible, happy man. Now I am old grunt. I am annoyed by this Holiday nonsense. These songs that are heard on radio stations across the country just appall me. Santa Baby, Having A Wonderful Christmas Time, Little Driummer Boy ect. Stop! I will not go into certain establishments anymore because I just do not want to hear it anymore. I used to like the Band-Aid Do They KNow Its Christmas, but that really grates me even more so. Bah Humbug! I will not celebrate this materialistic, phony, holiday anymore.

I can't tell if you're being being sarcastic or not. Are you being sarcastic?

No. And, while I am once again returning to Christianaity I still am opposed to the Holidays. It is a stupid ritual! Greg Lake's Christmas song says it best.

For many its a fun time of year, kids really enjoy the gifts, many families enjoy getting together for Christmas traditions,
Yeah the marketing departments are working overtime to sell more of their wares and make the whole time a bit too materialistic but looking at it another way lots of people make well needed extra money at this time of year..
Go rent yourself a copy of Bing Crosby and Bob Hopes movie White Christmas.
Give the next pan handler you see $20
Go to church this Sunday.
Go buy a bottle of Christmas Cheer (A 12yr old Glenfiddich)
Buy a Turkey and invite some one over for Christmas dinner.
Instead of being down and gloomy about the whole event you could just as easily be up and happy about the whole event.

I feel ya, dog. So I'm thinkin' maybe THIS sort of XMAS tune might be more your cup of eggnog, since you're burnt-out on the traditional ones.
Enjoy!

I guess/hope it's the mix of materialism and overexposure that bothers you. These might have less of both, in the US at least, but may still not be to your musical tastes.

I pretty much feel the same way. My favorite day of the year is December 26th. All the BS is finally over.

The only thing I do like about xmas is all the commericalization that takes away from the superstitious "real meaning" of xmas.
