Jimmy Harnen/Synch's "Where Are You Now?"
America's "You Can Do Magic"
The Jets' "Rocket 2 U" & "Cross My Broken Heart"
Ali Thomson's "Take A Little Rhythm"
Donnie Iris's "Love Is Like A Rock"
Charlie Dore's "Pilot Of The Airwaves"

any Elton John song of the 80s
any Jefferson Starship/Starship song except for "We Built This City", "Sara" and "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now"

Another one I like is "I'll be Missing You" by The Police, but I especially like the remixed version "I'll be missing you" by Puff Daddy & Sting...

I love these 80's songs!

Every now & then these 2 songs pop in my head...
The 2nd more often than the 1st... esp. "Everybody needs a little time away!" Maybe I need a vacation!

CHICAGO - Hard To Say I'm Sorry - YouTube

Oh... & to correct myself... it was the band, "Poison" (not Guns N Roses) that did "Every Rose has it's thorn."

I definitely agree that the songs from 1980-81 seem to be overlooked in favor of the songs from the other years of the 1980s, some of the songs you've mentioned I've never even heard of such as Barclay James Harvest's "Fifties Child", Neil Young's "Southern Pacific", Ramones' "Time Has Come Today" and I've totally forgotten all about Carole King's "One Fine Day"
