Another example of an instrument used in an unexpected place.

It is the only rock and roll Oboe I can think of off the top off my heads. Roxy Music live stuff is KILLER... I am a huge fan of them and Bryan Ferry. I am thinking "Both ends burning" too. Andy Mackay does a great job.

Respect! Sounds like an oboe in the opening of "Kiss from a Rose". Beautiful tune as well.
As far as ELO goes- I was really looking for oboe as a feature in a song. I'm sure there's one in there somewhere- it sounds like a full orchestra after all. 1 pt. for you!

Actually, ELO's debut album, where that song came from, uses the oboe in all the songs. I know, who knew?

Its not exactly a feature but there is an oboe in the opening of this tune. Lush sounds....
