Well back in the 50's, the short, curly hair was pretty much 'the thing'. So was the ponytail, for the more 'younger' women. But have you noticed the short hair is making a big splash these days?

Yes but still beauty doesn't change. Fashions do. To me, she was quite a looker.
She did kind of have a bad car accident in '61 that left bad scars on her head. But still, she was beautiful.
She was neither a gargoyle - nor was she gorgeous. She was a decent looking woman with an incredible talent that may never be equaled in its mysterious, haunting, and inviting sound. In my opinion she definitely looked a lot better when she was natural, without the heavy eye make-up.
I would not say that she was a beauty. I would say that she was a handsome woman.
It does not matter what she looked like, IMHO, her talent transcended the mere concept of earthly attractiveness. He had a voice like an angel which was silenced way, way too soon.

I don't really care if someone thinks she's unattractive, she's one of the greatest female vocalists of all time.
