Default Billy Strange passes at 81

Billy Strange is not known to a lot of people of the Generation X or Y days. Or for that matter neither is a group of session musicians called "The Wrecking Crew". But for the fans of 50's to 70's music and heard songs by Bobby Vee, Elvis, Beach Boys, Nat King Cole, Chubby Checker, Nancy Sinatra, and many others, he was very relevant and like the other "Wrecking Crew" session guitarists (of which he was a member) like James Burton, Tom Tedesco and Glen Campbell (yes, Glen Campbell), very much in demand in top 40 radio during that time. Strange passed yesterday. he was 81.

He also released a series of instrumental guitar lp's on the small GNP Crescendo label in the 1960's.
