Next up is a lady who was the first "Queen Of Country Music" way back in the 1950s. She was the first female country singer to score a number one hit single. We lost her on Monday at the age of 92 from complications following a stroke, but her legend and her music will live on.

Case's Friday 3-Fers: Smokey Robinson & The Miracles
The last of my three tributes today is to an artist who spent his career making others sound good. Bob Babbitt, a bassist with the backing group called The Funk Brothers, passed away from brain cancer this past Monday at age 74. His background included tons of singles from the Motown groups. Below is a sampling of Babbitt's works with one of the all-time great Motown groups.

Case's Friday 3-Fers: Snow Patrol
This Scottish alternative band had several failed tries at success before scoring in the U.K. with their first Polydor release, "Final Straw", in 2003. How about five times platinum in Britain?

Case's Friday 3-Fers: Ral Donner
He had a voice that sounded so much like Elvis Presley and many folks back in the day were making comparisons. There's just one difference: Elvis became one of the most successful artists in music history. And this featured artist? Never got past one top ten hit (and it wasn't even number one).

Case's Friday 3-Fers: Fleetwood Mac
Well, gang, it looks like I'll have to shut 'er down for another Friday. I'll finish here with some rock from a band combining members from both Britain and the United States (and I don't think you saw this type of arrangement very often). Mick Fleetwood, by the way, is the one remaining original member still in the group, and they're still around. Well, we've been down today, but we'll pick it back up next Friday and try this again. Enjoy your weekend, everybody, and I'll meet you back here in seven days -- how about it?
