I'm no disco expert, but when I played this track I received as a freebie from the DJ-Kicks label*, the first thing I thought of was, hmm, 21st century disco? (it's got a rather lengthy intro btw - song starts at about 1:02)
FYI the album it's on is called Suck My Deck.
I liked it enough to come up with some artwork (attached to the file using Media Monkey) for my MP3 player and computer-based media players.
* I own several of their remix CDs, including ones by Kruder & Dorfmeister and Thievery Corporation
Yeah, its gotta good beat and you can dance to it. What's not to like? Disco's most euphoric-sounding single of the seventies "I Love Music" says it all for me. This was the high water mark for Gamble and Huff's prolific production factory out in Philadelphia.
At first disco sounded shallow and inconsequential when I'd hear it played alongside the great black rhythm 'n' blues music of the sixties, but it grows on you.
Next to New York, New York by Sinatra, this song, Native New Yorker by Odyssey is another unofficial offical anthem for New Yorkers. But this album by Odyssey was a good album, no need to cut slack
