I'm enjoying beginning to participate in some of the music threads here. Lots of people with wide ranging tastes and some fun discussions.

I'm curious as to who amongst us is a player? I'd love to hear from other musicians...maybe discuss what instrument(s) you play, what kind of music, how long you've been at it, if you are in a band or do any recording, etc.
Not enough threads in my opinion. We really need our own forum to differentiate the love of listening to music as opposed to the love of MAKING music. Maybe a subform in the Hobbies area. We really get lost in the mix as most of these threads are discusssing the merits of the latest over-produced, autotuned, syntesized pop recording.
Someone want to make a suggestion to the mods so they can do something useful for once beside reviewing threads to eliminate any politically incorrect phrase that may offend someone? - a musicians forum.

As for me, I am a guitar player, not particularly skilled by any means, but I enjoy it.

I once made out with the drummer in a band. Does that count? Probably not.

I play electric bass and keyboards, and I sing. All for myself so far, I am much too shy to play in front of people These days I make music on my DAW (I still have a hardware recorder somewhere, though), programming my synths and effects on those virtual plugins. Great technology, I wish it had already been around when I was young - and poor
