I really can't get into today's music much with the screamo, rock you can't understand what they are saying. I do like one song by Plain White T-shirts........... Delila. Oh I like Jack Johnson too.
and can anyone in the us tell me how big snow patrol are in the statets? are they getting much radio airplay at all?
I like some of Snow Patrol's other stuff, like that crazy Get Balsamic Vinegar.
Very different from Chasing Cars!

I'm not putting these groups down as we all have our own tastes as even my taste in music will turn some off but these are too weak for my liking.
When you say weak, do you mean too much noodling around, too much texture, not enough structure? I could say that of Radiohead or Wilco.
Surely not the White Stripes or Flaming Lips.

O.K.....Cil i played a couple of songs by these two groups on youtube .
I had no idea if these are their best/hit songs or not but here's my thoughts.
White Stripes-Seven Nation Army
had some ROCK to them in that song and came across as a 60's style...kinda like Pschedelic.
Flaming Lips-Fight Test
Was more mellow and the singer and/or style had a lennon sound to it.
Nothing wrong with these what so ever....but again i just like a harder sound when it comes to rock. But i also like New Wave as that is pretty weak and yet i like that style also so maybe if i had nothing but those cd's that you recommend and i listen to nothing but them then i may come around to them more.
Maybe since i'm off work now (long week) and i'll have a rare cold one or two and listen to White Stripes some more....
James Taylor
