Elvis just so my Mother could see him perform live, she had tickets for one of his concerts and he died 4 days before the concert.

(I'm thinking by now he is going to be pretty gamey though)

Hendrix by the narrowest of margin. If Lennon would come back and actually perform a lot of the Beatles material he primarily wrote or sang then it would be him but post-Beatles he just seemed liked he wanted to put that behind him.

Another vote for Jimi Hendrix. If it's only one of multiple choices Cobain would be off the list. He committed suicide. If he wanted to go, let him...I say this sadly mind you...be remembered but not returned.
