Kiss Me Kate-Brush Up Your Shakespeare - YouTube
This one is LOADED with namedropping, starting with the title=} The tough guys are Keenan Wynn and James Whitmore, definitely not noted for working in musicals, which makes them totally delightful!
The girls today in society
Go for classical poetry,
So to win their hearts one must quote with ease
Aeschylus and Euripides.
But the poet of them all
Who will start 'em simply ravin'
Is the poet people call
The bard of Stratford-on-Avon.

Brush up your Shakespeare,
Start quoting him now.
Brush up your Shakespeare
And the women you will wow.
Just declaim a few lines from "Othella"
And they think you're a heckuva fella.
If your blonde won't respond when you flatter 'er
Tell her what Tony told Cleopaterer,
And if still, to be shocked, she pretends well,
Just remind her that "All's Well That Ends Well."
Brush up your Shakespeare
And they'll all kowtow.

Brush up your Shakespeare,
Start quoting him now.
Brush up your Shakespeare
And the women you will wow.
If your goil is a Washington Heights dream
Treat the kid to "A Midsummer Night Dream."
If she fights when her clothes you are mussing,
What are clothes? "Much Ado About Nussing."
If she says your behavior is heinous
Kick her right in the "Coriolanus."
Brush up your Shakespeare
And they'll all kowtow,
And they'll all kowtow,
And they'll all kowtow.

Brush up your Shakespeare,
Start quoting him now.
Brush up your Shakespeare
And the women you will wow.

Brush up your Shakespeare
And they'll all kowtow.

I sometimes feel as if this is almost my personal collection. Maybe I'm one of the few fascinated by this topic, silly me. But, names in lyrics seem to grab my attention. Maybe I should get a notebook, jot them down as I find them, then scatter them out later. Maybe...

This song was posted in another thread, and I have to add it here! It's about "Doctor Who"=} I love it! BTW: Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor, and I am so lucky that I met and spoke with him several times at conventions. What a delightful man he is! Luckily, I met Patrick Troughton, too, though Peter Davison was a disappointment (not very nice at all). Sylvester McCoy was a surprise encounter at one convention, as we first thought he was simply a fan dressed as his Doctor!

I just found a lot of songs by a group named Chameleon Circuit~all about "Doctor Who". This one is about what could be my favorite episode, "Blink", and I've watched MANY episodes since the Seventies!

Chameleon Circuit - Blink *Lyrics* - YouTube
It's not all that great, but I do like the episode! Sally Sparrow would have been a great Companion! Better yet, she could have brought along Billy Shipton! What a waste...

Is this about the ill-fated Laura Palmer of David Lynch's "Twin Peaks"?
