Lunga Goodman Nono is a blind guitar player/singer playing in the streets of Cape Town. Look how he plays the guitar, very interesting. Trying to help his family by playing, ya got to admire that.
In 2008 he was arrested and dragged to a police car, clothes torn and his guitar damaged in the incident. The charges were withdrawn last year. He had told them he had permission to play there. Bystanders filmed the scuffle and posted it online. Recently he was awarded 300,000 Rand, about 30k dollars for a civil claim that his rights had been violated. If this hadn't been recorded you can bet he wouldn't have gotten a dime. I'm sure the cops were not suspended or terminated for this crime. That's how it rolls there. The incident left him traumatized. Poor guy, I'm glad he got some money from this, though I wish he had gotten more.
