Yesss ! how could I forget the song. Have seen the move at least 3 times. An all time classic love story; and I cry at the end.

Here's yet another movie song, this from a tragic story of starcrossed lovers portrayed by Natalie Wood and Robert Redford. The girl singing at the beginning and end is Mary Badham, best-known as Scout of "To Kill a Mockingbird".

"This Property Is Condemned"- Wish Me A Rainbow - YouTube

Many years ago, I played it on the double keyboard organ. Now, I love playing this on the bowed psaltery.

From "Miss Potter", the biographical film about Beatrix Potter

To be honest, I've never been much of a Ewan McGregor fan, but this performance I admire.

I DO NOT LIKE the draggy-voiced singer, but I do like the song. How I wish someone else had recorded it because whoever this is is almost unbearable to me: too breathy, too wispy, too barely-on-the-right note. I HATE draggy voices! Too many present-day singers have fallen into this habit. Maybe someone will do a decent cover of it someday.

I have always loved Ewan McGregor's cover of Elton John's "Your Song", in the movie "Moulin Rouge"

Darn! I tried to quote, but something went wrong. Here's the one I wanted to point out:

Waiting for a Star to Fall by Boy Meets Girl

I have this couple's album, from which this was a hit. They actually wrote it for another artist who (astonishly) turned it down! What was that person thinking?! This is such a wonderful song, and I'm happy that they got to perform it. I don't think they had another success, but this certainly is one to be remembered for.
