Haha.. +1 for Ghost.

The Snap song isn't exactly hip-hop. I still don't know what genre that is, its in the same league as Soul II soul and The Family Stand though. They need to put that type of thing back into the spotlight. and C&C music factory DEFINATELY isn't.

There's a documentary somewhere that talks about the demise of hip hop, and the fact that when hip hop was becoming a strong voice for disaffected minorities, mediums like BET and head honchos of multimillionaire record labels, stopped supporting some of these acts...then the whole flash your bling crap came along, and lyrically minded hip hop was forever buried...
To me it will always be about A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul!

Rap started to decline when people started to rap about how much money was in the business. That's what attracted a lot of untalented, money hungry, copycatting individuals to it. This goes for executives too once they realized how much $ can be made by copycatting "successful" artists and themes.
