Our House by Crosby,Stills,Nash & Young is a beautiful song yet it only peaked at #30 in 1970.I rarely have seen it on a 70,s hits cd compilation. Our House by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young Songfacts http://www.songfacts.com/detail.php?id=7190
I love that song! Isn't that funny how the same song can evoke such strong, yet opposing feelings? I'm a songwriter in Nashville. There's a radio station here that will play a new song every now and then, and listeners call in to give it a number from 1-10. While everyone wants all 10s, it seems we'd rather have 1s and 10s than a steady line of 5s. Why? Because we'd rather write something people feel strongly about than have it be vanilla-bland-forgettable.
Eagle 7! I was not aware of that. Only #30? I have tuned in to many an oldies and classic rock station and heard the song frequently. It's an ok song, obviously a lightweight one. I can think of dozens of songs that should be on oldies radio that certainly charted higher than #30 that aren't played and haven't been played in 20 plus years. No wonder I am aggravated at radio. AARRGGHH!!!!!
Nice and Gentle. I liked it the first time around but some bright young thing decided to use it in a TV ad over here for a mortgage company! Hearing it everytime you turn on the TV can take a little of the shine away,,,

Guess that makes Our House a success.
We played it as a cool down song after aerobic dancing. It was a good one.
It's kind of a wussy, baby boomer, yuppie, whitebread yawner. The only use I have for it is as a short song that easily leads up to the top of the hr when Im on the radio.
