Dark Side was waaay after Syd however. Syd had been in a rubber room for several years by then. I've heard some early Floyd stuff with Syd in it, good stuff, some of it really strange, some of it hard to totally get into, and it's almost before they came into their musical "zone" you can say with Meddle (has Echoes on it) and later Dark Side. Still - Syd set the pattern.

In my book, Led Zeppelin is #1 - I'll give the Who #2 though.

I still rotate Love's "forever changes" in my CD player and car every few months. Chicago - this may be steriotypical but only the Terry Kath-era early stuff, up to about Chicago VIII

Have no argument with the aforementioned bands' greatness. But have you ever listened to the "Cosmo's Factory" album by Creedence Clearwater Revival? My all-time favorite in rock.

Well this is my alltime favorate by Neil Young ''Hey Hey My My''.

Off their ''Rust Never Sleeps'' Live album from back in the 70's

Good song but "Powderfinger" from the album and concert film beats that.

''Hey Hey My My'' by Neil Young was up there with ''Kashmir'' by Led Zeppelin and ''Whole lot of Rosie'' by AC/DC and ''2112'' by Rush and of course any thing by Black Sabbath as these songs/groups were our favorate back then to smoke pot and with our Black Lites and Posters and jamming to these with all our friends in High School in the late 70's/early 80's....

Think of Jeff Spicoli of Fast Times at Ridgemont High as who we were back then.
