I will be driving from MI to CA next week and could do with some new music. Can you guys give me some recommendations? My favorite bands are U2 and Nirvana from the last century and Linkin Park, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse and Kasabian from this one to give you an idea of the kind of music I like. That said, I am open to all genres except country. Thanks!

New band KXM just released an album. I'm a metal guy but this would be mellower and you may like it.
Dug Pinnick is a great singer.

The self-titled debut album from KXM, the new project featuring drummer Ray Luzier (KORN), bassist/vocalist Doug Pinnick (KING'S X) and guitarist George Lynch (LYNCH MOB, DOKKEN)

Doug Pinnick needs to eat something. If I see him I'm gonna force a juicy cheeseburger down his throat so he doesn't fall over from malnourishment.

Well, is this new as in modern or new as in music you may not have listened to?

When it comes to road trips for me I start with the entire box set of all Led Zeppelin albums with 10 the switch to the Bob Seger Live Bullet and a bit of Van Halen. I also slip in Yes, Big Generator when I'm driving at night.

They really get you rolling. I left Tampa Florida at 10 a.m. and was in Michigan and in bed by 2:30 a.m. (Do not try this at home).
