This band is kind of obscure in that they had one hit single, DAMN YANKEES. Ted Nugent of solo fame & the Amboy Dukes, both Michael Cartellone and Jack Blades of Night Ranger and Tommy Shaw of Styx. Everyone remembers "High Enough" but there was a LOT of great songs by this band. "Silence is Broken," "Coming of Age," "Damn Yankees," "Don't Tread on Me," and tons of others.
After Stevie Ray Vaughan died, his former band members started a tribute band. It was also a coincidence the lead guitar player was left handed and played a Fender Stratocaster like formally fallen Jimi Hendrix as well.
After this tribute band (circa 1992) disbanded...it wasn't long until 1995 when Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan modern contemporary Kenny Wayne Shepherd landed on the scene. They often play with him now. The other guitar player was decent, but Kenny is a mirror example and better suited in that role. He is also the superior guitar player as he sounds virtually identical to his childhood heroes.
For those of you who don't think Jimi Hendrix and SRV are still alive inside him, think again. Starts at about 1:30.....damn that's hot Kenny!! Even Chuck Berry and Eric Clapton soiled their shorts. Love the elderly black man too. He REALLY liked it too. That laugh, smile and clapping proves it.
