Can you name any songs whose melody does NOT match the lyrics? What I mean is where the melody is upbeat but its lyrics are gloomy? Or vice versa too, where the melody sounds melancholy but the lyrics are upbeat?
For starters, I have one where the melody is upbeat but the lyrics are sad. It's called Kind Of A Drag.
I never listened closely to the lyrics of this one when it was out. Years later I had my first relationships and breakups and I realized this song is not about travel.
Sometimes it's the title that does not match the melody. A good example is the song by the Beau Brummels. Even though it's about sorrow, its title is " Laugh, Laugh."
That's his new one^. I think it stinks....like everybody is saying on YouTube "sounds like some rap or hip hop s*** with a Southern accent.....that ain't country". I agree and don't like it. Strange it's #1 on the current charts.
Now what he was doing a few years back.......oh hell yeah here. He likes to push the boundaries. People say if he keeps that ^^^^ up and doesn't go back to this vvvv they will quit him and it will be his last.
